PAID INTERNSHIP

According to government data, more than 11 lakh students graduate, complete postgraduate studies, or earn diplomas in Maharashtra every year. While some of these graduates secure jobs, many struggle to find suitable employment. To address this issue and secure the future of Maharashtra's students, the state is launching a new scheme called the "Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana."

This scheme was announced by Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sh. Ajit Pawar, during the presentation of the supplementary budget in the assembly. The Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department of the Maharashtra Government will act as the nodal department for this initiative.

The Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana, also known as the Maharashtra Chief Minister Yuva Karya Prashikshan Scheme or the Maharashtra Chief Minister Youth Work Training Scheme, aims to provide on-the-job training to all eligible youths in both industrial and non-industrial establishments. This initiative will not only fulfill the manpower needs of various industries but also provide employment opportunities to those in need.

In addition to on-the-job training, selected youths will receive a monthly stipend based on their qualifications under this scheme. The stipend structure is as follows:

  • Rs. 6,000 per month for 12th pass students

  • Rs. 8,000 per month for ITI or diploma holders

  • Rs. 10,000 per month for graduates or postgraduates

Eligible beneficiaries must be between 18 and 35 years old. Students who have passed their 12th grade, hold an ITI or diploma, or have completed graduation or postgraduation can apply for the on-the-job training under this scheme.

The Government of Maharashtra has allocated a budget of Rs. 10,000 crore for the smooth implementation of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana.
